Claire’s Nursery

I thought it would be fun to share some photos of Claire’s nursery with you all! We decided to wait until the baby was born to find out boy or girl. When people heard this, the next thing out of their mouth was, “How are you decorating the nursery?!”  Well, we just got all of the basics…the crib, the dresser, the frames, the rocking chair, etc. Then once we found out it was a girl, I finished it out with girly, personalized details. We LOVED being surprised…although I feel like “surprised” isn’t the right word…I mean it can only go one of two ways?! Anyway, I loved creating the nursery while we waited for the baby to arrive. I would sit in the rocker and daydream about them living in this room.

The teal rocking chair was the first thing we bought for Baby G. I found it on Craigslist and we had it reupholstered. We found the changing table in Dallas, it is technically a “bedroom media console” but it is the PERFECT height for changing diapers- no hunching over!

I know this isn’t the cool thing to do, but we bought the crib from Wal-Mart. I know. We don’t even like Wal-Mart. BUT they have super affordable cribs that look pretty much just like the $800+ cribs.  We ordered it thinking we’d probably send it back but were totally happy with the quality and look of it so it stayed! My sister-in-law made Claire the little grey dog. Cutest thing ever. Well, besides the mobile she also made for Claire…but I’ll get to in a second.

Ah. The mobile. My absolute favorite thing about the nursery. Brian’s brother and his wife handmade this for us. Its magical.  I don’t think there has ever been a prettier mobile.

We live in a house that was built in the fifties so the closets are kinda weird. We decided to rip out what was there and add some built-in’s and closet space. Brian and my Uncle worked really hard on this and I am so happy with how it turned out. It’s a MUCH better use of the space!

I know it’s a weird thing to care about, but I wanted a pretty hamper.  I found this online and probably definitely spent to much money to get it, but hey, I loved it & was pregnant. Treat yo self!

Brian’s mom helped me make the curtains for the nursery. Those Goodrich’s are some crafty people, huh?! I actually already had the fabric laying around for another project I never got to.

This print is from, I adore it. Again this was a little pricy, but totally worth it for me. It is something we’ll have forever!

And just for fun, here is Miles being a good boy and keeping  watch over Claire’s room :))26
